What if the first three rules of writing were “location, location, location”? This panel brings together scholars and researchers who use maps and mapping in their teaching and research to explore how the processes of mapping and using maps to generate insight might intersect with writing and communication. Brief 10-minute presentations by panelists will preface a lively discussion about the role of space and place in writing and the role of mapping as a symbolic activity in shaping our understanding of the world.
